  NCC & NSS  
 
In order to bring “Unity and Discipline “among  schools and colleges students, Government  of India have introduced scheme of National Cadet Corps [ NCC ] in 1948 . The scheme was launched on 23rd November 1948. This  organization became the instrumental in molding character and dynamic outlook of student . It is endeavor of NCC to develop leadership, Discipline, courage and confidence with secular outlook among students .
To achieve these goals; NCC runs regular activities for school and college students .
 
ACTIVITIES-

- Annual training camps                                 - National integration camps
- Nau Saini camps                                          -  Central camps
- Gliding and Flying                                       - Sea training
- Mountaineering                                            - Trekking
- Cycle and Motor cycle expeditions             - Para sailing
- Para jumping                                                - Slithering
-Scuba diving   

Apart from these regular activities; Sport and games have been incorporated in curriculum of NCC .
Youth exchange programs with different nations are organized every year .

Foreign cruise is organized on board ships.

Republic day camp of one month duration is organized every year.

 

Benefits-

Government of India gives concessions to the students opting NCC .
- Indian Military Academy (IMA) reserves 32 seats for C certificate holders of NCC .
- Amongst UPSC pass outs , 32 NCC cadets are sent to IMA training .
-32 Pass outs of SSB are sent to IMA training .
- C certificate holders of NCC with B grade ; are exempted from written   
  examination of UPSC for SSC  ( Non technical ) OTA Madras through NCC 
  special   entry scheme .

- C certificate holders of NCC are exempted from part-I of written exam for SOT  (GD)
- C certificate holders of NCC are given 10% bonus marks in SOL  exam for cle/skt/tech/NA
- For induction of soldiers (GD)  8% bonus marks are given for B certificate holders  and 5% bonus marks are given for A certificate holders of NCC .
- For the commission in navy , 6 vacancies per course  ( Navy wing )  are reserved for C certificate holders of NCC .
- In the recruitment of Navy , bonus marks are given as follows

-In Air force 10% of vacancies of Pilot course are reserved for C certificate  holders  of NCC .
- For recruitment of Airman in Air force bonus marks are given for different certificate holders .C certificate 5 marks, B certificate 4 marks, A certificate 3 marks,  A certificate part –I, 2 marks.
- In border security force , for the post of sepoy / constable bonus marks for NCC students are given as follows .

- For recruitment as constable in Central Industrial Security force , B certificate  holders of  NCC are given one bonus mark while C certificate holders are given 3 bonus marks .
-  For the selection of officer rank in Coast Guard unit bonus marks are given as follows .
C certificate – 15 marks ,  B certificate – 10 marks , A certificate holders – 5 marks
- Mumbai University awards 10 grace marks for Bachelors degree to NCC cadets .
- For admissions to the medical colleges 3 bonus marks are given at qualifying exam ..
- 15 vacancies are reserved for admission to various Polytechnics for NCC cadets who represents state level in all India competitions .
- For  admissions to the ITI , 4 bonus marks are given to NCC cadets .
- NCC cadets holding B  or  C  certificate are given preference for entry in state Police Service .

 

Cash awards and Scholarships

-  45 , SD /SW and  80  JD/ JW cadets are awarded  Rs. 750 and Rs.500 respectively
- 44 SD/ SW   and   101 JD/JW cadets are awarded  Rs 2000   and  Rs 1500   respectively .
- A cash prize of Rs 1000 is awarded to cadets who participates in republic day  Camps .
-  NCC  Cadets securing rank positions in republic day camp are awarded by cash
   prizes as   First rank- 1000 Rs. , Second rank- 750 Rs  , Third rank –  500 Rs .

Land mark achievements of last three years .

 

2007-08

- During year 2007  NCC officer of our college  Mr. P .V. Ghuge was declared as best NCC officer of the 52 Maharastra battalion .
-  Mr. Ghuge P V  worked as representative commanding officer for NCC B certificate exam.
- Miss Anita Paikrao elected as secretary for cultural festival in the year 2007-08 Organized by 52 Maharastra battalion .

 

2008-09

Tree plantation program was organized on 1st of July 2008 at collectorate Hingoli .on behalf of NCC unit .
- 54 NCC cadets donated blood on 1st July 2008 .
- Common wealth game torch was greeted on 26th August 2009 by NCC jawans. It was a key roll of NCC in organization of event in Hingoli city.
- First and second December 2009   observed as AIDS day .  A Janjagaran rally was   organized by NCC cadets .
- During 26 June to 7 July  2008 yearly training camp of 52 Maharastrian  battalion was organized  by  NCC unit of our college .

 

2009-10

- During this year 9 NCC cadets have donated blood at 52 Maharastra Battalion yearly training camp at Nanded .
- On first December 2010 NCC organized AIDS  Janjagaran rally .
- On second December 2010 NCC organized AIDS Janjagaran cycle rally .
- One of our NCC cadet stood rank first in running competition held at battalionlevel .
- National integration camp of NCC was held during 19-30 January 2010 at Gajiyabad. 16 cadets of Maharastra directorate were lead by NCC officer of our College Lt.  Mr. P. V. Ghuge . Out of 16 cadets from all over Maharastra were  from    our college.
